"I promise myself"

Each and every day I am amazed and awed at the amount of inspiration in my life. It is everywhere I turn, everywhere I look and the feeling that it invokes in me is beyond the English language to describe. One of my favorite words to describe this feeling is 'Twitterpatted.' This feeling is something I feel 9 times out of 10, just about every moment in a day. I know this feeling comes from seeing beauty in the people I am blessed to work with, the horses that present themselves to me and array of other experiences, some as simple as going to the store for groceries or Starbucks for a Chai tea. Life is a wonderous game and when I reside in that knowing that feeling stays strong in me, I am clear with my communication and at peace everything and everyone.

One of my life goals is to master the power that thought offers, especially awareness to how I feel when I'm thinking something - how it effects me. By understanding that not only 'we are what we eat' but even more powerful 'we are what we think'and possibly even more than that 'we are what we attach our emotions to in our thought.' I play with this every day. Knowing that we are either expanding our energy and abilities - things that make us feel at peace, happy, inspired, joyful, loving, or contracting them through feelings of fear, worry, sadness, doubt, and hate. I work each day to retrain the habitual patterns of my thought that were engrained in me from my learning at a younger age, traditional teaching and supported through our society - focusing on lack and fear. Patience and perseverance have been constant friends in this journey. Believe me I haven't mastered it yet but I intend to! More and more each day it becomes habit to focus on what expands and inspires me and it feels wonderful.

To help myself in instilling the change I wish to embody by surrounding myself with inspiring art, beautiful photos of far away places, I love the written word - so poems and sayings, a dream board that sits above my desk with color pictures of loved ones, places and goals. I read books that are uplifting and usually have a pile next to my bed. I choose not to watch TV - especially the news, don't read the newpaper unless I looking for something specific, and seldom listen to the radio. I have tons of wonderful music I do listen to. I make a conscious effort to surround myself with only those people who are positive forward thinking. Some of you may say okay that sounds a little overboard but if you want something badly enough you will do whatever it takes to create an environment for yourself that ONLY what you want thrives!

The following is the creed from the movie the Secret. It resides on my refrigerator, along with others to remind me of what is important.
I Promise Myself
To be so strong that nothing can disturb my peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person I meet.
To make all my friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make my optimism come true.
To think only the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature I meet.
To give so much time to improving myself that I have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of myself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words, but in great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on my side, so long as I am true to the best that is in me.
